The Sohacki Story
Tom Sohacki grew up in rural Michigan, attended public school, completed Tool & Die training through the US Dept. of Labor, and served a 4 year apprenticeship with Tri-City Tool & Die. Upon completion of his apprenticeship, Tom worked for a variety of manufacturing companies in Michigan and Florida as a Tool & Die Maker for 10 years.
In 1980, Tom co-founded a Tool & Die Shop in Jacksonville. In 1991 he decided to venture out on his own and started a small shop in a rented single bay storage warehouse. This shop grew from a one-man operation to 11 employees, so in 1998 Tom decided to purchase land and build a brand new shop in an industrial park between Jacksonville and St. Augustine. Because of strong customer demand, an additional building was built in 2006 to house our stamping operation, fabrication, auxiliary manual machining, and finishing operations. Today we have 32 employees and encompass 20,000 square feet of manufacturing space. Although our roots are in Tool & Die, our primary focus is now short run manufacturing. Because of our origins, we will always take pride in producing precision parts to customer specifications.
Because we are a family owned company, it makes sense that the next generation of Sohacki's have entered the business. Josh Sohacki has worked here for many years and started by pushing a broom. He has progressively worked his way up to his current position of Plant Manager, and carries on the tradition of quality workmanship and excellent customer service. In addition to Josh, Jennifer Uhrie (Tom’s daughter) holds the position of Office/HR Manager, and her husband Rich Uhrie is our QC Manager.
